Monet, A Musical Drama - Submitted by Joan Ross Sorkin
March 8, 2019 @ 2:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us on Friday, March 8th at the York Theatre, 54th and Lexington Avenue (enter on 54th St.) to experience the world of Claude Monet and his Impressionist friends, Renoir and Degas. See them revolutionize the Paris art world but suffer in the process, particularly Monet. Music and Lyrics by LPTW Former President Carmel Owen, Book by LPTW member Joan Ross Sorkin, Directed by Alan Paul, Associate Artistic Director of DC’s Shakespeare Theater.
“Monet” with music and lyrics by Carmel Owen and book by Joan Ross Sorkin is inspired by the remarkable life of Claude Monet and the price he ultimately paid for his art. Think mystery, romance and revolution, and one painting that changed everything…
The show has been in development, most recently in an evening of song and story at The French Consulate. Now we are adding visuals with projection design and lighting to integrate the color and light of Impressionism into the drama.
