Recepción al Aire Libre (Garden Party)
to Benefit the
League of Professional Theatre Women’s

Gilder/Coigney International Theatre Award

The Flats Community Garden, 554 West 53 St. (SE Corner 11th Avenue)
Hosted by Melody Brooks, Co-chair, G/C International Theatre Award Subcommittee

Enjoy a virtual trip to Colombia, home of the 2014 Awardee Patricia Ariza, via an engaging mini-seminar on the country’s history and culture. It’s been created just for our guests by Diego Rojas* so we can understand and appreciate Patricia’s forty years of theatre activism in the context of Colombia’s struggles. After we hear from Diego, we’ll step out into the beautiful garden (with a running stream!) to hear the words of LPTW members from around the world in a short performance of WomenSpeak!

$25 Donation includes Melody’s famous SANGRIA and locally-sourced (i.e., from the ‘hood) Spanish cuisine!

Send check made payable TO LPTW, c/o New Perspectives Theatre Company

456 West 37 Street, NY, NY 10018

*Diego Rojas is a doctoral student in Science education at Teachers College Columbia University, where he is exploring multiple ways of integrating science and geography as an approach to improve environmental education grew up in Bogota, Colombia, where he had multiple opportunities to explore almost every facet this country has to offer, and he expects to return and transform the way science is being taught in rural Colombia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in science and a masters in Biotechnology.
