On June 5th, we honored these four inspiring theatre women.
Peggy Eisenhauer, Ruth Morley Design Award presented by Anna Deavere Smith.
Peggy Eisenhauer has been designing on Broadway for 24 years, and is known as the longtime design partner to Jules Fisher, a 28-year collaboration. She was selected as one of Variety’s 100 Women of Impact in Hollywood 2010, and is the recipient of two Tony awards and eight nominations (2013 “Lucky Guy”).
Judith Malina, Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Mark Russell.
Anarchist, pacifist, iconoclast born in Kiel, Germany, she founded The Living Theatre in 1948 with Julian Beck, and their ground-breaking productions have made the Living Theatre one of the longest-running avant-garde companies in the United States.
Mia Katigbak, Winner of the Lucille Lortel Award.
Mia Katigbak is the Artistic Producing Director and co-founder of NAATCO (National Asian American Theatre Company), its mission is to assert the presence and significance of Asian American theatre in the United States, demonstrating its vital contributions to the fabric of American culture.
Ashley Marinaccio, Lucille Lortel Women’s Visionary Award.
Ashley Marinaccio is the Founder and Artistic Director of Girl Be Heard, A not-for-profit theater collective and educational program for young women aged 12-21, which uses theater as a vehicle to empower young women to become brave, confident, socially conscious leaders while exploring their own challenging circumstances.
