In celebration of Equal Pay Day, the LPTW will be joining PowerHerNYC for a rally on the steps of City Hall!

It’s that time of year! National Equal Pay Day is April 14th.

This year should be momentous for New York because we are so close to passing the NY Equal Pay Bill (A6075/S). It will help insure that women receive equal pay for equal work. Now the average NY women losses 8,250 because of the pay gap…every year! What would you do with that money?

A separate bill –A6075/S1 – was introduced by Assembly member Michele Titus in March. It is one of a series of bills the Assembly will take up this session that addresses the needs of New York women. Since the Senate passed a “same as” bill earlier this year, if approved in the Assembly, it will go to Governor Cuomo to be signed into law.

After fighting for these provisions and WEA for two years, and for other equal pay bills for more than a decade, we are closer than ever to success. But we are not there yet! We’ve listed ways you can help get us over the finish line!
