SUMMARY:PanNYC Workshop 2017
DESCRIPTION:Nettles Artists Collective is proud to bring to New York another PanNYC Workshop series for 2017.\n\nTO REGISTER: http://bit.ly/pannyc2017\n\nRenowned Paris-based Pantheatre will be offering its training by artistic directors Enrique Pardo and Linda Wise in NYC. This year PanNYC will have a seven day intensive on Voice Performance and Choreographic Theatre\, as well as a seminar and an open session with invited artists. Oracles and Background Singers is the theme presented by Linda Wise and Enrique Pardo this year. It will be a reflection on the background vocalists’ voice from the point of view of Choreographic Theater and of what we call Voice Performance. The purpose is to work on the back-up voices with a ‘metaphysical’ perspective.\n\nWho are these voices? Where do they come from? What is their place? To whom do they belong? And what do they say?\n\n“The invitation here is to listen and to think about these voices\, these spirits\, not so much in terms of spirituality but rather in terms of spiritism - a notion and an attitude that needs redefining in terms of how we listen to and how we hear these voices. Also\, in terms of how we read and transpose their dramaturgical and metaphysical contents – i.e. the performances we make with them. This is crucial to an understanding of what is implied in voice extended ranges – certainly in Roy Hart’s vision\, certainly in choreographic theater.” (Enrique Pardo)\n\nTO REGISTER: http://bit.ly/pannyc2017\n\nABOUT THE NETTLES\nWe imbue the American art scene with authentic\, global voices and multidisciplinary collaborations by providing a platform for the performing and visual arts. www.nettlesartists.com Proud resident company at Punto Space. www.puntospace.com\n\nABOUT PANTHEATRE\n\nFounded in 1981 by Enrique Pardo\, co-directed with Linda Wise\, Pantheatre was the first independent company to emerge from the Roy Hart Theatre. It included the voice work in choreographic theatre (through corporal mime\, dance and actor's physical training in the Grotowsky / Odin lineage.) It was deeply inspired by the cultural ideas of archetypal psychology\, especially those of its founder\, James Hillman.\nBased in Paris (October to March)\, and at Malérargues\, the Roy Hart International Arts Centre\, in Southern France (May to September)\, where it organizes study and training residencies\, workshops and the Myth and Theatre Festival (July)
